With a salmon in paw, Cornellius sits down with us to share more about himself with his fans.
HeARTbeat: Where were you born?
Cornellius: I was born in the Teddy Bear Medical Center, located in the forests of Cornell University. I was just five physics textbooks tall and weighed about 100 pounds—pretty typical for a newborn cub if I do say so myself!
HeARTbeat: What is your family like?
Cornellius: I love my Mama and Papa so much! They teach me lots of things about the world and they feed me! My baby sister tries fighting everything. And I mean EVERYTHING! She once stepped on a twig and got mad, so she threw it off of a cliff. I hope the twig is okay. (Cornellius started sobbing, so we gave him some treats).
HeARTbeat: What do you like to do for fun?
Cornellius: I like to go fishing for fun! Sometimes, my Papa takes me hunting in the Ithaca Gorges. It’s so fun hunting salmon!🐟
HeARTbeat: How did you start working for the HeARTbeat at Cornell?
Cornellius: I wanted to be a Superbear to make Mama and Papa proud!
HeARTbeat: If you weren’t a mascot, what job would you have?
Cornellius: A fisher bear!
HeARTbeat: What message do you have for your fans?
Cornellius: Look out for more of me! 🐻✨
